Grief and Loss

You Don't Have to Carry This Alone

Whether your loss is recent or something you've been quietly carrying for years, you deserve a space to grieve fully, without a timeline or an expectation of how you should feel.

Grief can look like many things:

Waves of sadness that come out of nowhere

Feeling numb, disconnected, or empty

Difficulty sleeping, eating, or functioning

Anger, guilt, or relief, all at once

Feeling like no one really understands

Avoiding reminders, or being unable to let go

Wondering if you'll ever feel okay again

Whatever grief looks like for you, it's valid. And we're here.

Understanding Grief

There Is No “Right” Way to Grieve

We've all heard about the "stages of grief", but the truth is, grief rarely moves in a straight line. It circles back, it catches you off guard in the grocery store or on a regular Tuesday, it shows up as anger when you expected sadness, or as laughter when you expected tears.

"Grief is not a problem to be solved. It's an experience to be moved through, at your own pace, in your own way.”

Grief also isn't only about death. It shows up in the end of a relationship, a miscarriage, a job loss, estrangement from family, a health diagnosis, or even the loss of a life you thought you'd have. All of these losses are real. All of them deserve care.

What makes grief so hard is that the world often expects you to move on before you're ready. Counselling gives you a space where there's no timeline, just room to feel, process, and slowly find your footing again.

Your grief
is valid

No matter how others respond to your loss or how "significant" they think it is your pain is real and it deserves to be acknowledged.

There’s no timeline

You don't have to be "over it" by any particular point. Grief moves at its own pace , and that's okay.

Grief and love
are connected

The depth of your grief often reflects the depth of your love. Honouring your grief is a way of honouring what and who mattered to you.

Healing is Possible

Healing doesn't mean forgetting or "getting over it." It means finding a way to carry your loss while still being able to live and love fully.

How we help:

Support that meets you where you are

Grief counselling isn't about rushing you through your pain,
it's about creating space for it, making sense of it,
and gently finding your way back to yourself.

Continuing Bonds

Modern grief therapy recognizes that love doesn't end with loss. We help you find ways to maintain a meaningful connection to who or what you've lost, while still moving forward.

Trauma-Informed Support

When loss is sudden, violent, or traumatic, grief and trauma become intertwined. We are trained to hold both, helping your nervous system and your heart heal together.

Meaning-Making

Loss often shakes our sense of who we are and what our life means. We work with you to find new ways of understanding your story, one that honours your loss while still leaving room for the future.

Grief Processing

We help you move through the layers of grief, the sadness, the anger, the guilt, the relief, so they don't stay stuck. Processing grief is different from dwelling in it.

Compassionate Listening

Sometimes the most powerful thing is simply being heard. We offer a space where you can speak freely about your loss, without judgment, without being rushed, without being told how to feel.

Complicated Grief Support

For those whose grief feels prolonged, consuming, or stuck, we offer specialized support for complicated grief, helping you move through what feels immovable.

What working with us looks like:

  • A 15-minute phone call to connect, ask questions, and make sure we're the right fit. No commitment, no pressure.

  • Your first session is about being heard. We won't push you anywhere. We'll simply create space for whatever you need to bring.

  • Together we'll begin to understand the shape of your grief, what it feels like, what triggers it, and what you need most right now.

  • Ongoing sessions support you in processing your loss at your own pace, finding language for what you feel and slowly making meaning from it.

  • Healing doesn't mean forgetting, it means learning to carry your loss in a way that leaves room for life. We'll get there, together.

  • There's no set timeline, grief is deeply personal. Some people find meaningful relief in a handful of sessions; others benefit from longer-term support. We follow your pace, not a schedule.

  • There is no wrong time. Some people reach out in the immediate aftermath of a loss, others come to therapy years later when grief resurfaces. Wherever you are in your journey, support is available.

  • Only if and when you want to. We follow your lead entirely. Some sessions might be about memories and stories, others might be about getting through the day. There's no agenda her, just space for whatever you need.

  • Grief shows up in many forms, the end of a relationship, a job loss, a health diagnosis, estrangement, infertility, or losing a sense of who you were. All losses deserve care, regardless of whether others see them as significant.

  • Grief doesn't follow a calendar. There is no "should" here. If you're still hurting, whether it's been three months or three years, your pain is valid and you deserve support.

  • No referral is needed. You can reach out to us directly and we'll connect you with a counsellor who is the right fit for what you're going through.
