Children and Teens
Your Child Is have a Difficult Time, and You Just Want to Help
Watching your child or teen go through a hard time is one of the most difficult things a parent can experience. Whether they're withdrawing, melting down, anxious, angry, or just not themselves, we're here to help you both find a way through.
Does this sound familiar?
Your child seems anxious, sad, or withdrawn
Frequent meltdowns, outbursts, or mood swings
Your teen has shut down and won't open up
Struggling at school or with friendships
Navigating a big life change or family transition
Changes in sleep, appetite, or energy
You're not sure what they need, but you know something's off
You don't have to figure this out alone, and neither does your child.
Understanding Your Child
Big Feelings in a Small or Not-So-Small Person
Children and teens experience the full range of human emotions but they often don't have the words, the tools, or the safe space to process them. What looks like defiance might be feeling overwhelmed. What looks like laziness might be depression. What looks like attitude might be anxiety they don't know how to name.
"Kids don't always say 'I'm struggling.' Sometimes they show it in ways that are hard to understand, and that's where we come in."
Therapy for children and teens looks different from adult therapy. It's creative, collaborative, and always age-appropriate. For younger children, that might mean play-based approaches. For teens, it's more of a real conversation in a space where they actually feel heard, not lectured or judged.
And for parents, we know how isolating it can feel not to know what your child needs. We'll keep you in the loop and work with you as a team, because the best outcomes happen when families are part of the process.
Their feelings are real
Children and teens feel things just as deeply as adults, sometimes more so. Their struggles deserve to be taken seriously, not minimized.
Early support makes a difference
Getting help now rather than waiting until things escalate, gives your child tools they'll carry with them for life.
Your child’s well-being matters to you
Reaching out for support is one of the most loving things you can do. It takes courage to ask for help for yourself or your child.
Things can get better
With the right support, children and teens are remarkably resilient. The capacity for growth at this stage of life is extraordinary.

How we help:
Therapy That Meets Your Child Where They Are
We use evidence-based, developmentally appropriate approaches that feel natural and non-threatening, so your child or teen can actually open up and do the work.
Trauma-Informed Care
Whether your child has experienced a specific event or ongoing stress, we approach every session with sensitivity, safety, and an understanding of how trauma affects young people.
CBT for Kids & Teens
We use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in ways that are age-appropriate and engaging — helping children and teens understand and reframe the thoughts driving their distress..
Mindfulness & Regulation
Practical tools for managing big emotions: breathing, grounding, and self-regulation skills your child can actually use in real life, at school, and at home.
Talk Therapy for Teens
Teens need a space where they can speak freely without judgment. We create that, a genuine, honest conversation that helps them feel understood and find their footing.
Family-Inclusive Support
We collaborate with parents throughout the process offering guidance, communication strategies, and ways to support your child's growth at home.
Play Therapy
The parent-child relationship is the longest of your child's life. We help you build one that will sustain both of you through every stage.

Parents Are Partners
We don't leave you in the dark. We involve you in a way that's developmentally appropriate and keeps the family moving in the same direction.
What working with us looks us:
-
We start with a 15-minute call with you, the parent. We'll listen to what's going on, answer your questions, and figure out if we're the right fit. Zero pressure to book.
-
We start with a parent session and learn about your child such as what's happening at school, at home, with friends, the full picture helps us support them better.
-
The first session is about making your child feel comfortable, not diving into heavy topics. We take our time building trust before anything else.
-
Sessions are tailored to your child's age and needs: playful and expressive for younger kids, more conversational for teens. Always at their pace.
-
Better emotional regulation, stronger communication, more confidence. Changes that show up not just in sessions, but at home, at school, and in their relationships.
-
We work with children as young as 4 years old through to late adolescence. Our approach is tailored to each child's developmental stage, so therapy looks very different for a 7 year old than it does for a 16 year old.
-
This is more common than you'd think. We're happy to chat with you first about how to approach the conversation with your teen. Sometimes a low-key intro call, with no commitment, helps break the ice. We meet teens where they are.
-
Typically, sessions are kept as your child's own space, we find it makes a big difference when they know it's truly their time. That said, we'll always keep you informed and loop you in where it makes sense for your child's age and needs.
-
Yes, virtual sessions are available across Alberta. That said, we want to make sure your child feels truly comfortable, so we encourage you to consider what setting works best for them before booking online.
-
No referral is needed. You can reach out to us directly and we'll set up a free consultation to talk through what your child is going through and how we can help.
-
Many extended health plans in Canada cover sessions with Registered Psychologists or Registered Social Social Workers. We recommend checking your plan to be sure.
