CBT

Therapy
Have you ever noticed how a single thought can completely change the way your day feels? CBT works with exactly that, helping you understand the connection between how you think, how you feel, and what you do.
At Evluni, we offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy In Beacon Hill, Calgary NW, available for in person and virtual sessions
So, what exactly is CBT?
Most of us have an inner voice that narrates our life — and sometimes that voice isn't very kind. It might tell you that you're going to fail, that you're a burden, or that the worst is always about to happen. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, or CBT, is about slowing that voice down and asking: is any of that actually true?
CBT is built on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and actions are all connected. When we get stuck in unhelpful thinking patterns — like catastrophizing, mind-reading, or all-or-nothing thinking — it affects how we feel emotionally and what we do (or don't do) in response. CBT helps you notice those patterns and gently challenge them, replacing them with ways of thinking that are more balanced and realistic.
This isn't about forcing yourself to "think positive." It's about thinking more clearly. And the skills you build? They tend to stick around long after therapy ends.
Is CBT Right for You?
CBT is one of the most widely researched therapies in the world, and that's because it genuinely helps a lot of different people with a lot of different struggles. You might find CBT helpful if you're dealing with:
Anxiety or panic attacks
Depression or low mood
Obsessive thoughts (OCD)
Phobias or fears
Negative self-talk or low self-esteem
Stress and burnout
Grief and loss
Trouble with sleeping
Anger that feels hard to control
Relationship difficulties
PTSD or past trauma
Eating concerns
Not sure if CBT is the right fit? That's completely okay.

-
CBT does involve some practice between sessions, things like jotting down thoughts or trying a small experiment in real life. But your therapist will make it feel doable, not like a school assignment. The more you practice, the more it becomes second nature.
-
Absolutely. At Evluni, our therapists often integrate CBT with other evidence-based approaches like ACT, DBT, or EMDR, depending on what's most effective for your unique situation. It's always tailored to you, not a one-size-fits-all plan.
